You can host LEAP™ on your local server, or securely in the Cloud

When deploying your LEAP™ application, we recommend utilising the efficient and agile workings of Cloud Technology. Our suggested platform is Microsoft Azure, the current Market Leading Cloud Computing Service.

LEAP™ can easily be deployed on The Cloud to save your company from investing in costly servers. We are more than happy to complete this deployment process for you, utilising Microsoft Azure. Or alternatively we can work alongside your team to ensure a hassle free, smooth deployment process.

Here are just a few benefits of using the Microsoft Azure Platform:

UPTIME

The attractiveness of Cloud Technology is that Microsoft look after the Platform so you don’t have too. Microsoft’s Internal Team are fully trained to mitigate any unusual or threatening activity. The Platform itself is also equipped with rigorous recovery measures and protocols. This means you can maximise on uptime without the worry that comes with a local server failing.

SCALABILITY

Cloud Technology allows you unlimited improvements and storage.

We use Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines to host LEAP™) which gives you the power to scale your performance and flexibility. There is also the option to choose (and if it’s needed increase) your CPU (Central Processing Unit) capacity. Through the Microsoft Azure Portal, you can monitor, track, resize and upscale all elements of your LEAP™ Platform.

SECURITY

Microsoft safeguard the privacy of your data, letting you chose which Data Centre your sensitive material will reside and who can access it. Encryption is also used to secure all data when in transit to and from the Data Centres.

ACCESSIBILITY

Even though Cloud Technology needs rigorous security measures, that doesn’t compromise on the fact that your processes are easily accessible from anywhere, using any device. As long as you are a registered user with the correct domain login details you will have no problems accessing your LEAP™ Platform to monitor and manage.

REQUIREMENTS

LEAP™ can be deployed to The Cloud or installed on your own local server. Minimum requirements can be viewed below.

Cloud DeploymentServer Deployment

We can arrange a Cloud deployment for you using the Microsoft Azure network, or alternatively we can work with you to ensure your Cloud deployment goes smoothly.

Server Software Requirements

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 / 2012 R2 / 2014 R2
  • Microsoft .Net 4.5
  • Windows Identity Framework
  • IIS7 or higher with Windows Communication Foundation Activations turned on
  • SQL Server 2008 (SP2) / 2012 (SP3) / 2014 (SP2) Standard Edition (ensure SQL Server instance is allocated minimum of 7GB RAM)

 

Hardware Requirements

As a minimum the following is required;

  • 4 core (2.4 GHz Intel Xeon® E5-2673 v3 processor)
  • 14 gigabytes (GB) of RAM minimum
  • 10 GB or more of available space (this depends on client usage and predicted throughput)

For SQL Server configuration we recommend that all database files are stored on non OS disks. LEAP uses tempdb frequently so there are performance benefits moving these to different disks than the user databases.

This specification will support approximately 100 concurrent users for configurations of moderate complexity.

LEAP™ Installation/Configuration

The LEAP™ installation requires both web services and windows services to be hosted on the server.

LEAP™ Web Services

There are number of web services that will need to be hosted within IIS with a http and https binding. The LEAP™ windows service, client WPF application (local workstation) and website (server hosted) will need to be able to connect to these endpoints.

LEAP™ Windows Service

This will need to be installed as a standard windows service and it will host a number of svc endpoints on a configured port. The client WPF application (local workstation) and website (server hosted) will need to be able to connect to these svc endpoints.

LEAP™ Workflow Server Service

This will need to be installed as a standard windows service and communicate to the LEAP™ SQL database and LEAP™ web services.

 

Database and Documents

There are 3 SQL Server databases required for LEAP™’s data storage and a local document store for the document storage.  The disk space capacity for these will be depend on analysis of the client throughput.
